There is NO CHARGE to be a featured artist on either the LIVE SHOWS or SESSIONS video programs. I am trying to document as many of the talented artists of Northeast Ohio that I can within my means and abilities.

The goodsoundwaves SESSIONS video series features local artists performing their original songs in an intimate setting, most often in the goodsoundwaves home studio. In either instance, audio is captured in a controlled environment using TASCAM hardware. Video is captured using high end smartphones.

  • You will need three or more original songs. Most performances contain four to ten songs performed by the original artist. These can be songs you’ve released or only really played to your friends.
  • You will need any supporting musicians for your performance. Most performances are a singer/songwriter with just one guitar and a mic. I have recorded five member bands in the home studio space, but you can totally do a solo performance.
  • You will need any instruments for your performance. I have some gear available, but most artists bring in their own guitars, keyboards, etc.
  • You will need approximately thirty minutes to an hour for the taping. Five songs typically takes about 45 minutes from an artist’s arrival to departure. You just come in, plug in, and do a quick sound check. It really is a streamlined experience. If I come to you please allow 15 minutes each for setup and breakdown of my gear.
  • You are welcome to bring a guest to quietly enjoy your performance. Please no more than one guest for your recording session. If you’re under 18 I ask that you be accompanied by an adult. I reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone at any time.

The goodsoundwaves LIVE SHOWS video series features local and visiting artists at local venues performing their original songs. There have been some cover bands, as well. Audio can be provided by the house audio engineer or recorded using available resources such as mics and a mixer or field recorder. Video is captured using high end smartphones.

  • I can run your sound for small shows. If your setup is limited and you’d like to make a big impression for your video, you can count on goodsoundwaves to help you sound your best. There is NO CHARGE for this service; it’s worth it to me to be sure I capture quality audio.
    • I use a TASCAM Model 16 Mixer/Recorder
    • I use a Pair of 400W Samson PA Speakers on Pole Mounts
    • I use Shure SM57, SM58, and SM7B Microphones
    • I use a pair of PreSonus PM-2 Microphones
    • I can connect an additional pair of PA Speakers (If You Have Them)
    • I can connect two stage monitors (If You Have Them)
  • I can connect to your sound. If you have sound handled, I can take a stereo mix off your board, or get stems as I bring both SD cards and Flash memory sticks with me.
  • I do not provide instruments. Please bring any instruments you may need for your performance. I only bring tools to capture audio and video.
  • I may edit longer shows for length. I record up to two hours or two sets of your performance. This can make for lots of footage. Editing only the best tracks of longer performances helps keep this project tenable.

What You Receive

  • YouTube video of your performance.
  • Video of your performance, free of branding.
  • Videos of selected individual songs, free of branding.
  • Providing a 32GB or larger flash drive will speed up receiving your files.
